it does not take much time to drop a handful of dust int the slammer. i should know.

Inefficient use of resources. Cells are for bodies, dust gets swept into the trash.

the bodies can share the cell with the dust perfectly fine. neither is going anywhere anytime soon.

Keeping dust in our cells makes us look like a buncha slobs. We can do better than that.

slammer-keeping is not part of my job description. i only bring in the criminals and it is the job of the warden to make sure that the prisons are tidy.

for whatever use of the word tidy we are using i guess.

I've done time as a warden before. I can tell you they don't much appreciate you getting them filthy.

then they can make cleaning part of the mandatory work detail the prisoners have to serve. i do not see how this is a problem.

i do not need to call my shots as they land where they are supposed to just fine when i am silent. the job is always done satisfactorily.

Not if it's being done the way you been talking about. Thing about calling shots, it's not our own we call, it's yours. You shoot where we call.

officials are often corrupt. the law is everything but those who only serve for the power it gives them are nothing but another criminal to be apprehended.

And what's this law you follow? Law exists to maintain the world, make it run efficiently.

Doing as you please to uphold it violates the spirit of that, if not the letter. Don't need you jamming up the gears because it doesn't sit right with you.

Too circular a definition. Put it that way, you can do whatever you please and pretend the law gave you the go ahead.
